Dr. Reverend Orris Dupuy Sr.

Dr. Reverend Orris Dupuy Sr. died at 5:10 a. m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at Baton Rouge General Hospital Mid-City in Baton Rouge, La.

Visitiation will be at the Sweet Home Baptist Church in Maringouin, La Tuesday, Feb.18 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  Religious services will follow at the Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Maringouin, La.  Funeral services will be at the Greater Saint Mary Baptist Church at noon on Saturday, Feb.19.

 Dr. Reverend Orris Dupuy Sr. married his high school sweetheart Dora Dedrick on April 12, 1958 and to this union 8 children were born.  He leaves to cherish a devoted, caring and dedicated wife Dora Dedrick Dupuy.   Three sons Orris  (Casandra) Dupuy Jr., Alfred (Dionne) Dupuy and Donald(Charlene) Dupuy.  Four daughters Cynthia (Carl) Jones, Antionette (Richard) Major, Dieatrichia(Donald) Williams, Konnikki Dupuy.  27 grandchildren Orris Dupuy III, Masucyookee Dupuy, Nadia Sam, Carla(Huey) Wiley, Carl Jones Jr., Carlton Jones, Carlo Jones, Carlson Jones, Carlayah Jones, Carlaysha Jones,  Charisma James, Allen Dupuy,   Sha’Darany Dupuy, Carl Dupuy, Rashanti Major, Donald Williams Jr., Amber Williams, Donaldvan Williams, Harmony Williams , Shontell Dupuy, Vontejah Dupuy, Clydeishia Dupuy, Keowana Davis, India Smith,  Danaejah Dupuy, and Char’De Dupuy.  25 great grandchildren, two extended daughters Darolyn Williams and Stephanie McLeod.  One extended son, Darrell Butler.  Two extended grandchildren Andrew Williams Jr. and  Bre’nee Williams.  One sister in law, Mary Dedrick of Ventress, La.   Two aunts Helen Leban and Geraldine Baker Snowton of Plaquemine, La.  Two Godchildren Ricky Williams of Plaquemine, La and Adrian Price of Port Allen, La.   A very devoted cousin Emelda of Los Angeles, California, a devoted friend and cousin Reverend Edward Armstead Sr. of Plaquemine, La,.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Reverend Dupuy was preceded in by his parents, Alex and Beatrice Dupuy, grandmother Wanda Callaway and one uncle Steve Callaway,  one  son Alex Dupuy, two sisters Delores Myles and Rose Mary  Snearl, one grandchild Ernessa McNell, father and mother in law Junius and  Doretha Dedrick, brother in law, Junius Dedrick Jr., one extended grandson Andre’ Williams, a host of aunts and uncles.
