Annelies Martinez (nee Mary Annelies Ohlmeyer) was born in Plaquemine, January 11, 1959, and she died Saturday, April 16, 2011.
She was an assistant principal with the Iberville Parish School System
in Plaquemine and previously for West Baton Rouge Parish, having been an educator for twenty years. A graduate of LSU, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She is survived by her husband of thirty years, Felipe Eduardo Martinez, a son, Felipe Santiago Martinez II, two daughters and a son-in-law, Francisca Mercedes Martinez Comeaux and husband Randolph, and Annelies Maria Martinez, mother-in-law, Hortensia Martinez, six sisters and brothers-in-law, Lydia Ohlmeyer Chopin, Austin, TX, Mercedes and Jim Doré, Hedwig and Samuel Carville, and Faith and Steve Maddox, all of Plaquemine, Gretchen and Bruce Lovelace of Baton Rouge, and Carrie and Robby Geier of New Roads, sisters-in-law, Alicia Grace Ohlmeyer of New Orleans, Terry and Tino Dalmau of Baton Rouge, Mary and Pablo Rodriguez of Miami, numerous nieces and nephews, Godchildren Fritz Carville, Kathryn, Charles, and Lawrence Elkins, and William Huggins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raleigh and Mercedes Postell Ohlmeyer, brother, Raleigh Ohlmeyer, Jr., brother-in-law, Dr. Cecil Chopin, and father-in-law, Felipe Santiago Martinez. Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine concelebrated by the Rev. John Carville and Rev. Cleo Milano Tuesday (April 19) with the burial in Protestant Cemetery on the same day.
