Ruby Vessel Woods entered into eternal rest at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. She was 88 a resident of Plaquemine and a native of Chamberlin. She was a retired food service technician with the Iberville Parish School system. Visitation at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church 58165 Barrow St., Plaquemine, LA 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 until religious services at 7 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Lionel Johnson Sr. pastor. Dismissal services on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at 11 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Lionel Johnson Jr. She is survived by her children and their spouses Joyce W. Price(Morris, Sr.) of Denver, CO; Patricia W. Mitchell of Los Angeles, CA; Gilda Matthews(Ronald) of Los Angeles, CA; Larry Woods(Gloria) of Baton Rouge, LA; Roderick Woods(Lisa) of Baton Rouge, LA. Two brothers Huey Vessel of Plaquemine, LA; and Gerald Vessel(Mary) of Los Angeles, CA Two Daughters-in-Law Linda and Lovely Woods. Sisters-in-Laws Maude Tate Vessel of New Orleans, LA; Alice Vessel of New Orleans, LA; Carolyn Woods of Plaquemine, LA. Brother-in-Law Charles Woods. 18 Grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Dave Woods, Sr.; her parents Rev. Jerry and Sarah Vessel; 2 sons Dave Woods, Jr. and Lawrence Edward Woods; 7 brothers and 1 sister.
