Gertie Oufnac Landry, a homemaker and resident of White Castle passed away September 14, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 103, born June 16, 1910, in Napoleonville. Visiting at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, White Castle on Monday from 9:15 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m., celebrated by the Rev. Joey Angeles. Entombment in White Castle Mausoleum. Survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Alton J. and Sandra "Coochie" Griffon Landry of Plaquemine; six daughters, and sons-in-law, Audrey L. and Bobby Walker and Jo Ann L. and Lee "Sonny" Nastasi, all of Baton Rouge; Gerry L. and John Rogers, Marian L. and Kenneth "Zeke" Sanchez, Norma L. and Kenneth "Chut" Hernandez, all of White Castle, and Joyce L. and Charlie Hymel of Gramercy; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Lawless T. Landry; parents, Elbert and Effie Landry Oufnac; sister, Isabelle O. Campeaux; two brothers, Barney Oufnac, Sr., and Lester Oufnac; and a granddaughter, Madeline Rogers Brouillette. Pallbearers will be Alton, Jr., Charlie and Brandon Landry, Robby Walker, Dr. Kent Nastasi, Henry Campeaux, Barney Oufnac, and Lester "Jack" Oufnac. Honorary pallbearer will be David Hymel.
