When you walk into Plaquemine Bank and see Janet Campo, you will immediately feel her dynamic personality and inner strength. She carries herself with confidence, professionalism and a strong sense of self. Janet takes pride in her work and is known as the "person to get the job done". Born and raised in Belle Rose to Philip and Judy Bergeron, she was taught early on that she had to pride herself on her work in order to succeed. "My dad was a sugar cane overseer and my mom was a homemaker. They worked hard to provide a good home for me, my two sisters and my brother."

After graduating from Assumption High School, she met and married her husband of 25 years, Richard. Together they have two sons, Briggs and John Bradley. Shortly after she married, she began working at Citizens Bank before joining the team at Plaquemine Bank in 1997. Her strong work ethic and pride in her duties have helped her achieve her current success as Vice President, Loan Officer and Compliance Officer. Janet was commissioned in 1990 as a notary public and in 1992 graduated from the Bankers School for Supervisory Training. She is also a 2003 graduate of Leadership West.

When she earned the Vice President title, she reflected on her career. "I get to help people obtain home loans, business loans and provide other loans for consumer purposes." says Campo. She credits Steve Panepinto, President of Plaquemine Bank, for much of her success. "Steve has a lot of confidence in me and has played a big role in my success. He has been a mentor to me." Mr. Panepinto states, "Janet is a very caring individual who always looks out for the best interest of her family, her friends and her customers. She is an outstanding member of the Plaquemine Bank Team." Her coworker, Rhett Vaughn says, "Janet has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to lending. She is a real asset to our team here at Plaquemine Bank."

Through her experience and knowledge, Janet has been able to build relationships with many local people as well as others in the surrounding areas. "People can choose any bank so when they chose us we go out of our way to provide quality customer service. We handle our customers with professionalism, respect, integrity, and care." says Campo. "I have built so many relationships with the residents of our Parish. I have an excellent customer referral base because of the service we provide."

Janet is also involved in the Iberville Parish 4-H club and has served as their treasurer for the last five years. "4-H offers so many opportunities to children. They can learn about lots of different things from sewing and gardening to livestock."

When she's not at Plaquemine Bank, she is usually spending quality time with her husband, children and their extensive family. Campo values her family time tremendously. "Most of my family lives in South Louisiana and we take advantage of that. We have lots of fun together." A self proclaimed "Bayou Girl", she takes every opportunity to cruise down Belle River to some of her favorite places. "I was born on Bayou Lafourche…my love for the bayou is in my blood." says Campo smiling. Her hobbies are boat riding, gardening, cooking, shopping and LSU tailgating. Mardi Gras is one of her favorite holidays and she is an active member of the Krewe of Okeanos. Her favorite places to travel are the beaches of the Gulf Coast and New Orleans.

When she was told she was chosen as one of the Women of Iberville, she humbly said, "I am so happy to be chosen and feel very blessed to be able to contribute to this community in some way. It means so much to me to be recognized."
