White Castle nips WSJ in 8-1A action

Top-ten ranked White Castle High turned back visiting District 8-1A rival West St. John High early last week by a 49-35 score to boost its record to 2-1 in league play.

Coach Ronald Johnson’s Bulldogs moved to 13-8 overall with their second league victory, which came a couple of days before visiting second-ranked parish/district rival East Iberville High in St. Gabriel last Friday (see article in this section).

The Castlemen kept a steady lead over the visiting Rams, registering quarter advantages of 12-8, 13-9, 14-9, and 10-9 to win by 14 points.

Quadry Allen bagged a trio of 3-point buckets and led the way for the WCHS offense with a game-high 16 points. Fellow guard Daniel Allen netted four from 3-point range and finished with 12 points, while Ronald Martin popped in 9 points. Randy Foster tallied 7, while Isaac O’Bear and Damarious Wesley scored 3 apiece. Eric Terry led WSJHS with 12 points.
