St. John High shined at the unusually early annual Parish Track Meet held two weeks ago at White Castle High.

The Eagle boys won their portion of the meet topping Plaquemine High 75 points to 63. White Castle was third with 55, while East Iberville had 37. Meanwhile, the SJHS girls captured their portion of the parish meet with an 82-point total. PHS placed second with 77 points. WCHS closed with 20 points, while EIHS had 19.

It was the first time St. John’s boys had won a meet since spring of 2007 and the first time in several years the Lady Eagles captured a meet title.

Plaquemine’s boys-girls left the meet before it finished due to an off-the-field incident involving a non-student, young adult and a trio of PHS boy tricksters.
