PHS moves to 3-3 in 8-3A softball last week

Plaquemine High’s Lady Green Devils suffered a diamond loss last week to league-leading Brusly High and their District 8-3A record dipped to 3-3 as a result.
The 10-12 overall local softball club was clinging to third place in the district standings when weekend diamond play began. Brusly boosted its record to 6-0 in district with the win over PHS, while Livonia was in second place with a 5-1 mark. Port Allen was fourth with a 2-4 mark.
Carli Jo LeBlanc, who played summer ball with several members of the PHS team, pitched Brusly to the victory by holding the Lady Green Devils to only four hits. Mallory Perrault suffered the mound loss for Plaquemine.
Senior Candace Tullier led the PHS offensive with an RBI base hit, while another former IPRD summer ball standout, Shelby Willis, led Brusly with a pair of hits and three RBI.
