White Castle High’s Bulldogs pushed their District 8-1A record to 3-1 late week with an 11-7 victory over Christian Life Academy.

Overall, the Castlemen moved to 8-5 on the mound. They were one of only three teams (St. John at 5-0 and Ascension CHS at 4-0) in the 8-1A league with winning records going into weekend play. The Bulldogs are keeping pace with their 2010 showing. They placed a strong third in the district behind SJHS and ACHS and finished with a winning record last spring.

In addition to beating CLA last week the Bulldogs outscored 3-A Baker High by a 21-13 count. A slated game with ACHS was rained out last week.

Dedrick Gore and Tyree Bracken blasted triples and Jarian Jenkins had a double to lead the Bulldog offense in the win over CLA. Gerad Carline was the winning WCHS pitcher in the league outing.

Quincy Jones paced the Bulldog offense in the big win over Baker. Everyone in the WCHS lineup hit the ball well. Gore picked up the mound victory.

The Bulldogs were slated to host East Iberville in a district/parish diamond game Saturday. East entered the game with a 0-3 mark in league play. The Tigers lost early last week by a lopsided 20-2 score to ACHS.
