IPRD all-star softball clubs, machine pitch boys close out seasons at state tournaments

IPRD girls softball all-star teams and the two boy machine pitch baseball clubs took part in State Babe Ruth Tournament play last weekend, but none survived to advance to Southwest Regional competition.
The best finish at the state level was by the IPRD 7-year old machine pitch boys as they finished third in state tourney competition with a 2-2 record. They won two in a row, but lost a pair in the late tourney brackets.
Next in line were the IPRD 10 and Under Girl All-Stars (their team photo is shown on this page). They finished fourth in the state tourney. They lost to neighboring Westside Recreation 13-12, but rallied back to win a pair of tourney contests before matching up again with Westside. Again, they lost and finished in the final four.
The 8 and Under All-Star girls dropped two in a row and exited the state tourney quickly as did the 12 and Under All-Star IPRD softball girls.
The IPRD 8-year old machine pitch boys lost to Zachary in their opener and then fell a second time to exit early at state.
The girl all-stars played at St. Charles Recreation in their state tournament. The 7s and 8s boys played in Abbeville.
This coming weekend state tournament competition continues for the 10-year old and 14-year old all-star boy teams.
