WBRZ Friday Night Blitz is back in 2011

The Friday Night Blitz Preseason Special will cover high school football teams across South Louisiana.  WBRZ Sports 2 will give you their picks for which schools they think will be in contention for state championships. 

The show will break down the local districts and preview more than 50 area schools fighting their way to the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans. 

The Friday Night Blitz Preseason Special will be hosted by WBRZ Sports Director Michael Cauble, weekend sports anchor Chad Sabadie and sports reporter Michael Kelly.

The special will replay on sister station WBTR, which airs on Cox Cable Channel 19 and over-the-air on Channel 41. Viewers should check their local cable companies to see if WBTR is carried in their area.  Below is a list of the rebroadcast dates and times:

·       Saturday, August 27 7 p.m.

·       Tuesday, August 30   5 p.m.

·       Wednesday, August 31   3 p.m.

·       Thursday, September 1   9 a.m.

In addition to this special, WBRZ will once again broadcast Friday Night Blitz every Friday night throughout the high school football season.  Each show will feature highlights of the night’s games from around the area and interviews with players and coaches.  The first broadcast for the regular season show is Friday, August 26, at 10:35 p.m.  Repeats will air weekly on WBTR every Saturday at 6:30 p.m., starting August 27.
