WEEK 5 PREVIEW: Bulldogs hope to snap losing streak

Defending Class 1A state champion White Castle hopes to snap a three-game losing streak Friday when they celebrate homecoming against Port Allen. Two other Iberville Parish schools venture away from home in hopes of rebounding from losses.
East Iberville, the only undefeated team in Iberville Parish, was announced to have an open date.
The Bulldogs hope to stop the 3A Pelicans in action at Rocky Ourso Stadium. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
White Castle opened its season with a convincing win over Glen Oaks, but followed with losses to Central Catholic-Morgan City, University High and Redemptorist.
The Plaquemine Green Devils hope to rebound after suffering a 48-0 rout against Assumption, while St. John looks to Kentwood to get past a loss in a wild 48-38 battle last week at Brusly.
In action in the surrounding areas: Brusly hosts Livonia, Assumption entertains St. James, Donaldsonville visits Block, Ascension Catholic travels to Central Catholic and Christian Life hosts Ascension Christian.
In Baton Rouge, two high-profile teams clash hoping to end their respective slumps when Catholic visits Parkview Baptist. Unbeaten Episcopal hosts Many, while Redemptorist entertains Calvary and St. Michael travels to Jewel Sumner.
