White Castle, East Iberville look To Week 9 for playoff chances

Playoff implications loom for White Castle and East Iberville this week in the second-to-final week of regular season action.

In East Iberville, the Tigers (6-2,1-2) need a win over Ascension Catholic (2-5, 1-2)  in hopes of a chance for a 1A playoff berth.

Power points may help defending Class 1A champion White Castle (2-6, 1-2) land a playoff berth, but the Bulldogs need wins in the next two games to get to the “big dance”.

White Castle entertains Ascension Christian (0-8), which enters the game after a 28-0 loss to Ascension Catholic.

The Bulldogs fell 51-8 last week to West St. John, which sealed up the District 9-1A championship Thursday against visiting St. John.

In East Iberville, the Tigers (6-2,1-2) need a win over Ascension Catholic (2-5, 1-2)  in hopes of a chance for a 1A playoff berth.

The Tigers lost 62-0 in Week 8 action at St. John.

Kickoff for both games is 7 p.m.
