WC tops D’ville early last week for third hoop victory

White Castle High rolled to a 75-64 boys’ basketball victory early last week over 2-A neighbor Donaldsonville High, claiming their third season victory.

The 3-1 Bulldogs used second and third quarter margins of 21-9 and 24-6 before having to battle off a 32-point rally by the visiting Tigers to win by 11 points.

Sophomore DeAndre Bellock scored a career-high 25 points to lead the WCHS offensive attack as he dominated under the boards. Senior guard Isaac O’Bear backed him with 15 points, while senior Randy Foster and Jarrian Jenkins netted 10 apiece. Terrance Fair added 7 and Terrance Taylor 4 points.

DHS Tiger football standout Devon Breaux paced the visitors’ hoop team with 16 points.

Donaldsonville won the JV game by a narrow 39-38 score.
