Ouachtia Christian achieved this year what the Monroe-based team couldn’t do last year.

The Monroe-based Eagles defeated West St. John 23-7 in the Class 1A championship game Friday in the LHSAA/State Farm Prep Classic at the Mercedes Benz Superdome.

OCHS finished the season 15-0. The Eagles lost to White Castle in the 2010 1A title game.

West St. John finished its season 12-3 and went unbeaten in District 7-1A en route to winning the district title. St. John finished runner-up in that district and White Castle was third.

In other action, No.7-seeded Neville breezed past Karr for a 27-6 win in the 4A championship game.

Here’s the Saturday schedule:

2A (John Curtis vs. Winnfield) - 11 a.m.

3A (St. Charles vs. Amite) – 3 p.m.
