Eight home games on LSU 2012 schedule

Staff reports

LSU football fans in the local area will have plenty of chances to cheer for the Tigers without traveling far from home.

The Tigers play eight home games, which include visits from Alabama and South Carolina, on the 2012 schedule, according to the schedules released Wednesday by the Southeastern Conference.

The Tigers will travel to College Station to face Texas A&M in the first SEC season for the Aggies.  It will mark the first time the Tigers faced the Aggies since the 1995 season opener.

The Tigers will face all teams from the SEC Western Division, as well as SEC East foes South Carolina and Florida.

The Tigers kick off the season Sept. 1 at home against North Texas. Washington and Idaho come to Tiger Stadium for the next two games.
