St. John Lady Eagles will be playing for the district title tonight, having to run through Ascension Catholic and Catholic PC.

After a three-way tie, and a coin flip for a bye, the St. John Lady Eagles find themselves battling it out the hard way for the District title.

St. John will take on Ascension Catholic tonight, Thursday, October 30 in a best of three matchup, and the winner will take on Catholic Pointe Coupee immediately after.  The matches will be held at Team Sportsplex on Perkins Road in Baton Rouge.

According to the by-laws, a coin flip determines the two teams to play for the title in a three-way tie with the third team biting the bullet without getting a chance to compete.  SJHS coach Chase Mancuso and other voted on the current format, giving each team a fair chance to win with the coin toss deciding who gets the first round bye.

After a long, hard-fought season, junior Payton Passantino, seniors Claire Pearce, Keri Yarbrough, Carlee Smith and others will be given a chance to prove why they deserve the 2014 District title.
