It is safe to say that the pre-district schedule was a tough going for the White Castle Lady Bulldogs after the team mustered up just four wins.  Head coach Tammy Pierce and the WCHS Lady Bulldogs have seemed to have cast their woes away after jumping out to a 4-2 district record.

WCHS opened district play against the EIHS Lady Tigers and pulled out a resounding 64-22 victory over their parish rival.  The team echoed that performance with another blowout win over a different parish rival, the St. John Lady Eagles, 40-17.

Just when the team thought they could not increase their scoring differentials more, the Lady Bulldogs held rival Ascension Catholic to a measly 10 points in a 63-10 rout.

The three-game win streak came to a halt, however, when the Lady Bulldogs dropped district matchups to Southern Lab at home, 44-75, and a talented Ascension Christian team on the road 45-62.

The team rebounded Friday, Jan. 20 with their fourth district victory, a 52-31 win over Kentwood.

The team sports an overall 8-15 record and are 4-2 in district play before they hit the road to take on rival St. John.

The Lady Bulldogs earned themselves a spot just outside the top 10 LHSAA 1A teams at 11.  Look for this ranking to improve as the season continues.
