White Castle Bulldogs tacked on another district victory last week, this time over parish rival East Iberville 73-57.

The well-rounded attack and defense behind Ja’Tyre Carter, Koye Ruffin, Kenneth Bracken, Darian Pierce and Tamarcus Fair lifted the Bulldogs to their fifth district win on the season.  This was their first over rival East Iberville and will host the Tigers later in February.

Last week’s prep play was not all positive for the Bulldogs, however, as they followed up their win over EIHS with a non-district loss to Madison Prep 48-76.  The showdown against Madison Prep was the final non-district matchup for WCHS until their postseason run.

Head coach Troy Green hopes the tough non-district outings will be enough to prepare the Bulldogs for what lies ahead.

White Castle sits comfortably in the number four spot of the LHSAA 1A Power Rankings.  The team once held the top spot and will look to reclaim that title before season’s end.

Next on the docket for WCHS is a road trip to take other parish and 1A rival St. John Eagles and rival Ascension Catholic.
