Plaquemine Green Devil Todd Harris committed to Louisiana State University.

Standout All-American and Plaquemine Green Devil safety Todd Harris has committed to continue his play for the LSU Tigers on Wednesday morning.

Harris, 6-0/180, chose LSU over Alabama, Arizona State and TCU and joins other All-American safeties committed to LSU in 2017: Grant Delpit and Jacoby Stevens.

Harris is rated a four-star prospect and considered the No. 83 rated player in the country by ESPN.

“This was a tough decision and it took a lot of thought,” Harris said.  “My parents and I have been talking a lot the last couple of days about my decision.  It was ultimately up to me and I decided where I wanted to go.

Harris kept his decision simple and toned down the flash.  “This was a business decision so I wanted to keep it very professional.  I’m just ready to work.

“I’m just happy I got all this over with.  It was a once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Harris spent part of his early morning on the phone with his future head coach at LSU, Ed Orgeron.

“Coach O is a great coach,” he said.  “I talked to him this morning and he congratulated me on being a Tiger.  I’m just ready to get to work.”
