Devin Brock scored 24 points in the Eagles' first district win of the season over Ascension Christian.

St. John Eagle have had a tough outing in this year’s district matchups, though the team did earn their first district matchup of the season last week over Ascension Christian.

It was not easy going for the young squad, however, as SJHS had to fight tooth and nail to squeak out a two-point 43-41 victory over their district rival.

Devin Brock was the lead scorer for the Eagles with 24 points, followed by Adam Blanchard with 10.

SJHS lost their initial district game against East Iberville, White Castle, Southern Lab, Ascension Catholic and Kentwood, but it is not too late for the Eagles to turn their season around before the 1A playoffs begin.

They host parish rivals White Castle and East Iberville this week.
