Since their 45-62 loss to district rival Ascension Christian, the White Castle Lady Bulldogs have won four straight district games to improve their over record to 7-2 in 6-1A.

Lady Bulldogs hosted Kentwood on Jan. 20 and came out victorious 52-31.  WCHS then hit the road to take on parish rival East Iberville, and easily defeated the Lady Tigers 71-40.

They had quite a scare, however, when they hit the road to take on their other parish rival, the rising St. John Lady Eagles.

The Lady Bulldogs didn’t claim the lead all game until late in the fourth quarter when the team pulled out a narrow 64-61 win.

Lady Friday, WCHS capped off their win streak with their fourth straight by defeating lowly Ascension Catholic (0-7) 58-21.

The Lady Bulldogs are currently sitting in second with their 7-2 district record just behind 9-0 Southern Lab.

For WCHS to take the title, they would have to get a revenge win over Ascension Christian on Feb. 10, defeat Kentwood on the road and hope for Southern Lab to drop their last two of the season.

In the recently released LHSAA power rankings, the White Castle Lady Bulldogs improved one spot overall and are officially in the top 10 at tenth in the 1A rankings.
