Eagles earn second district victory

St. John Eagles have earned their second district win of the season, this time over district rival Ascension Catholic by a narrow score of 45-43.

Devin Brock was the team’s lead scorer with 21 points, followed by Adam Blanchard with 13.

The Eagles earned their first district win of the year over Ascension Christian on Jan. 24 with a score of 43-41.

SJHS sports an overall 7-18 record and are 2-7 in district play.  The Eagles hit the road to take on Southern Lab this week and will look to earn their third district win of the year when they host Ascension Christian Friday, Jan. 17.  They close out the regular season against Kentwood Jan. 18.

The St. John Eagles are currently ranked 10th overall in the LHSAA Div. IV power rankings and will most likely earn a playoff berth at season’s end.
