White Castle Lady Bulldogs were nipping at the heels of Southern Lab before play last week, but came up just shy after dropping two games, one to Southern Lab 39-82 and Ascension Christian, 38-52.

WCHS capped off their regular season with a district victory, however, after defeating rival Kentwood 47-41.

The Lady Bulldogs ended their regular season with an overall 12-17-1 record and finished third overall in district 6-1A behind Southern Lab (12-0-1) and Ascension Christian (8-3).

WCHS recently garnered the 10th overall seed in the LHSAA 1A prep basketball playoffs, good enough to open postseason play at home.

The Lady Bulldogs will host 23-seeded South Cameron Thursday, February 16.  The winner will advance to take on 7-seeded Tensas or 26-seeded East Iberville.
