Former White Castle Lady Bulldog Ariel Bell was recently recognized at the Iberville Parish School Board meeting held Monday, June 12.

Bell is the1A state champ in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash.  This year, she took first overall in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash events with respective times of 11.94 and 25.13.  She took each win with a one-second lead over each second place finisher.

Bell has claimed the top spot in the 100-meter dash for four straight seasons.  Her times helped the White Castle Lady Bulldogs earn a top-ten finish at the 1A state meet held at LSU.

Earlier this season, Bell committed to the next level as she signed her letter of intent to continue her play at Xavier University.

She will compete on the school’s volleyball team and will be a sprinter in women’s track.  In 2016, Bell tied the all-time state record in the 100-meter event with a time of 11.91.

“We are extremely proud of her accomplishments on the track and in the classroom,” Superintendent Arthur Joffrion said.  “She has a bright future.”
