Recently, the Iberville Parks and Recreation District softball and baseball teams performed well at their respective state and district tournaments.

The Iberville 10 and under All Star softball squad came out third overall in the Babe Ruth State tournament.  12 and under softball and 7-8 year old machine pitch also participated in the tournament held in Patterson the weekend of June 21-25.

The girls will now travel to Houma from July 3-8 to participate in the Regional Tournament.

The young baseball squads also recently performed well at their district meet.  The boys 5-6 year old machine pitch team earned the crown in the district tournament held in Pierre Part from June 8-11.

The young baseball clubs also participated in the State tournament held in Alexander Park in Brusly from June 22-25, along with the 7-8 year old Blue machine pitch team.  The 8-year old Green machine pitch team traveled to compete in the State tournament held in Donaldsonville that same weekend.

“We are very proud of all of our teams and hats off to our volunteer coaches,” IPRD Director Mike Markins said.  Shown are the participating teams.
