PLAQUEMINE - Plaquemine four-star defensive lineman recruit Davon Godchaux refuted reports he committed to LSU July 17.

Several media outlets including Rivals.com reported the 6-5, 275-pound senior-to-be committed on the final day of the Tigers' football camp.

Godchaux was offered a scholarship by LSU last month and has nearly 30 total offers. Among those are Alabama, Florida State, Ole Miss, Texas and Texas A&M. He visited USC and UCLA this weekend.

An All-State selection a year ago after registering 60 tackles including 16 for loss and 9.5 sacks, Godchaux set an announcement date for his college selection Dec. 28 earlier this month.

Rivals rates Godchaux as the nation's No. 151 recruit in the Class of 2014. He is listed 10th among Louisiana recruits.
