Cajuns pick up transfer from Arkansas
Just as fall camp is at the midway point, the UL football team got some big news when former Arkansas linebacker Otha Peters announced that he will transfer from the Razorbacks to the Ragin' Cajuns.
Peters, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound junior, made the announcement through Twitter.
Peters was a Freshman All-SEC selection in 2012 when he had 32 tackles that season. But after suffering a broken arm during fall camp last year, Peters only played in seven games in 2013 and made nine tackles for the Hogs.
Peters is expected to redshirt this coming season and be eligible to play in 2015 with another year of eligibility left.
Peters is from Covington and was a four-star recruit. He was ranked as the No. 6 inside linebacker in the country, the No. 4 overall player in Louisiana and the 126th overall prospect in the nation by Rivals.com, while 247Sports.com ranked him No. 5 overall in the state and the No. 13 outside linebacker in the country.
UL assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator Reed Stringer sent this tweet after Peters tweeted his announcement.
