Tennessee football sets date for Orange & White spring game
Tennessee will play the first football spring game of the Josh Heupel era on April 24 at Neyland Stadium.
The Vols announced the date on Wednesday. Kickoff time and details on fan attendance in accordance with COVID-19 protocols will be announced at a later date.
Tennessee will have 15 practices this spring beginning March 23. The spring practice session will unfold throughout a period of five weeks.
The spring game will offer a first look at the Vols under Heupel, hired Jan. 27. During the offseason, he'll institute an up-tempo offense that will mark a big change from the system Tennessee operated the past few seasons.
Also of note this spring, the Vols' quarterback job is open. The four-man competition features graduate transfer Hendon Hooker, returners Harrision Bailey and Brian Maurer and four-star signee Kaidon Salter, who enrolled in January.
