What Kumar Rocker said about joining Jack Leiter with Texas Rangers in 2022 MLB Draft
The heart of Vanderbilt baseball's 2021 rotation will now pitch together in the Texas Rangers organization.
Kumar Rocker and Jack Leiter, both All-Americans, Golden Spikes Award finalists and the national co-leaders in strikeouts, were both drafted by the Rangers. Leiter went second overall last year, and Rocker was drafted third overall this year after he failed to sign with the New York Mets in 2021.

Leiter said in a tweet, "Let’s go! This guy is gonna be great! Now let’s get to work."
Their Commodores teammate Enrique Bradfield Jr. was pleased with the choice, tweeting, "THE DUO IS BACK."
Rocker said on MLB Network that, “I think we came as a package deal years later" because of how much the Rangers scouted both pitchers in the draft in which they ended up going with Leiter.
"That's the boy right there, I'm excited to see Jack," Rocker said.
Former teammate Christian Little, now at LSU, tweeted, "Kumar and Jack. Omg that's cheating."
