Here are the top players to watch at the Louisiana high school football state championships

The LHSAA Prep Classic begins on Sunday and runs through Wednesday at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches.

Here are the top players to watch. 

Sage Ryan, senior, Lafayette Christian Academy. Ryan can do it all for the Knights, including playing wide receiver, running back, punt returner and safety. He has signed with LSU. 

Destyn Hill, senior, Edna Karr. Hill is the top-ranked wide receiver in the state for the class of 2021. He has offers from Florida, Florida State, Alabama and LSU, among many others.  

Jack Bech, senior, St. Thomas More. Bech, an LSU signee, has 1,125 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns this season. 

Shield Taylor, senior, Alexandria. Taylor, a tight end, is best known for his blocking and size. He has signed with Stanford.

Tyrell Raby, senior, Madison Prep. Raby, a cornerback, has signed to played with Memphis. 

Montrell Johnson, senior, De La Salle. One of the best running backs in the state, Johnson had 85 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries in the semifinal round. He de-committed from Arizona earlier this month and will be making a final decision in February. 

Kenneth Bannister, senior, Edna Karr. Bannister, 6-6, 290 pounds, is one of the best offensive tackles in the state. He will play at Louisiana Tech. 

Kendrell Williams, senior, Carencro. Williams averages 72.9 rushing yards per game. He had four touchdowns in Carencro's semifinal victory. He is committed to Louisiana.

Walker Howard, junior, St. Thomas More. Howard, the top player in the class of 2022 in the state, has thrown for 3,009 yards and 35 touchdowns this season. He is committed to LSU.

Tygee Hill, junior, Edna Karr. Hill, a defensive tackle, has offers from Alabama, Florida, Colorado, Kansas and Kentucky. 

Aaron Anderson, junior, Edna Karr. Anderson has 28 receptions for 506 yards and six touchdowns this season. He is committed to LSU. 

Quency Wiggins, junior Madison Prep. Wiggins, a defensive end, has offers so far from Arkansas, Indiana, Memphis, Mississippi State and Ole Miss. 

Jordan Allen, junior Lafayette Christian Academy. Allen, a defensive back, has three interceptions this season. He has offers from Arizona, Kansas, Memphis, Minnesota, Virginia, South Alabama and Colorado.
