Ruston’s four-star running back is no longer on the recruiting board.

One week from National Signing Day, senior Ke’Travion “Bull” Hargrove announced his commitment to Mississippi State on his Twitter page. Hargrove chose Mississippi State over his hometown team Louisiana Tech, Penn State, Memphis, Texas State and Louisiana-Lafayette.

Coach Mike Leach and staff came in late for Hargrove, offering him a scholarship Jan. 16, more than a week after the running back released his top five schools list.

Hargrove is a consensus four-star prospect and a top 10 recruit in the state of Louisiana.

Despite spending a portion of the 2020 season injured with a sprained knee, the 6-foot, 180-pound back still helped guide the Bearcats to the Class 5A quarterfinals, rushing for 793 yards and 11 touchdowns in just five games.

Ruston's Ke'Travion Hargrove (9) carries the ball during the playoff game against East Acension at L.J. Garrett "Hoss" Stadium in Ruston, La. on Nov. 22.

Hargrove amassed more than 2,800 total yards and 37 scores the last two seasons, which propelled his name on the recruiting trail as he garnered 16 total offers, a list that also included Florida State, South Carolina, Michigan State and Oklahoma State.

Back in May, Hargrove initially committed to Louisiana Tech but decommitted two months later as his recruitment started picking up steam with three Power Five programs offering him afterward.
