After an abbreviated season last spring thanks to COVID-19, the high school softball schedule is in full swing with games nearly every day of the week.

Here’s a look at 10 players to watch in Northwest Louisiana.

Raelin Chaffin, Airline, Sr.: “Raelin stands out with throwing in the mid to upper 60s with multiple pitches. This year, she is even a big part of our hitting line up, leading the team in home runs,” said coach Brittany Frazier.

Madison Trujillo, Haughton, Sr.: “Madison has been one of the most consistent hitters in our lineup for the last four years. She is confident and is a tough out for any pitcher she faces. When Madison steps into the box, there is no doubt she is going to compete,” said coach Leanne Prather.

Riley Walker, Calvary, Sr.: “Riley is one of the glues that holds our team together. She is very sharp on the mound and is a great leader. She brings us stability,” said coach Tiffany Brown.

Addison Martin, Captain Shreve, Sr.: “Addie is the type player who can go from the starting lineup in basketball and start the next night on the softball field. She is one of those players that a coach only gets a few of during a coaching career,” said coach Mitch Fant.

Brooklynn Bockhaus, Haughton, Jr.: “Brooklyn is one of the best over all athletes that has come through Haughton. She has speed, hits for power, is instinctual, and has a knowledge of the game that sets her apart from other players. She is a great teammate whose work ethic is hard to match,” said Prather.

Haughton's Brooklynn Bockhaus wins the Week 32 Times Athlete of the Week voting.

Paris Endris, Airline, Jr.: “Paris stands out because you can put her anywhere on the field besides pitcher and she will get the job done. She is very versatile. Paris is a big hitter for us as well," said Fraizer.

Riley Myers, Southwood, Jr.: “Riley Has really worked hard and improved in all aspects of the game in the last year. Her speed and control have really increased, and she received her first college offers last summer. She’s a junior who will be our No. 1 pitcher and leadoff hitter,” said coach Wade Strother.

Aly Delafield, North DeSoto, Soph.: “Aly is so athletic and has developed into a top flight shortstop. She is a force at the plate with power and speed,” said coach Tim Whitman.

Airline's Raelin Chaffin will sign a softball scholarship with LSU.

Sophia Livers, Benton, Soph.: “Sophia is a great player. She is very quick and consistent on defense. She is our leadoff hitter who does a good job getting on base,” said coach Tracey Rambin.

Ramsey Walker, Calvary, Fresh. -- “Ramsey adds a spark to our team and our lineup. She is a very talented player and has a competitive attitude,” said coach Tiffany Brown.
