Updated: LHSAA gets OK to expand capacity for baseball and softball championships
The LHSAA and executive director Eddie Bonine have received authorization from the state fire marshal to increase capacity at the upcoming softball and baseball tournaments in Sulphur, according to the LHSAA.
The increased capacity allows for 2,800 spectators per session which will distribute approximately 235 tickets per team at the championships.
“The LHSAA would like to thank the offices of State Fire Marshal Chief Butch Browning Jr. and Major Nick Hienin of Area 3 for their extra effort, assessment, guidance and authorization to expand spectator capacity considerably at the state softball championships at North Frasch Park and state baseball championships at McMurray Park,” the LHSAA said Monday on Twitter. “Please know, the increased spectator capacity does still provide for a safe and healthy environment for athletes, officials and spectators alike.”
Teams will be given a link to purchase tickets prior to the general public. The link will be provided to school administrators and will be active this Sunday through Tuesday. Tickets not sold during that period will be sold to the general public.
