Oak Hill senior sharpshooter Emma Tucker is The Town Talk's athlete for the week for Jan. 10-16.

In Jan. 11's game against East Beauregard, Tucker scored 19 points and got six rebounds in a 66-52 win. Tucker became the third Oak Hill girls basketball player this season to reach the 1,000-point mark for her career — joining Alexis Dyer and Kylee Johnson.

This season, the 3-point specialist is averaging 9.9 points per game and has made 85 3-pointers on 34.7 percent aim.

Over 92,000 votes were cast this week as Bunkie girls basketball sophomore Carlesia Fields constantly battled Tucker for the lead throughout the week. Following those two in the poll were Rapides girls basketball junior Carlisa Mitchell and Menard boys soccer sophomore Ryan Hicks.

Below are the full results of the poll.

Polls for the Town Talk's athlete of the week open each Monday morning and will remain open until noon Thursday. You can vote as many times as you'd like.
