37 Shreveport-Bossier area high school baseball players to watch in 2022
The 2022 Louisiana high school baseball regular season is underway with numerous talented athletes on display in Northwest Louisiana.
Here's a look at 37 players from Caddo and Bossier parishes who are expected to be among the top performers for the 2022 season.
Jorge Alfaro, Bossier, Sr: Alfaro hit .315 and posted a .423 ERA.
Austin Anderson, Haughton, Jr.: Anderson was 4-1 on the mound with a 1.23 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 22 appearances.
Robert Ashley, North DeSoto, Jr.: Ashley hit .492 with 42 RBIs and three home runs while scoring 54 runs.
Cade Bedgood, Calvary, Jr.: The Cavs’ catcher hit .333 with 23 RBIs and five doubles.
Luke Bloxom, Northwood, Jr.: In 60 innings Bloxom was 5-5 with a 2.88 ERA.
Brooks Brossette, Byrd, Jr.: Brossette is moving from the infield to centerfield to utilize his speed. Has the most at-bats of the returnees with 70.
Brendan Burns, Northwood, Jr.: The catcher hit .369 with seven doubles and 25 RBIs.
Garrett Burns, Evangel, So.: A solid catcher who hit .330 with 15 doubles, 16 RBIs and 21 stolen bases.

Carson Carey, Airline, Sr.: The Northwestern State commitment hit .250 with 16 RBIs, a home run and six doubles.
Andrew Cooper, Minden, Sr.: Hit .405 with a pair of home runs for the Tide.
Jack Deville, Many, Sr.: Deville was 7-1 with two saves and a 1.24 ERA while hitting .326 with 26 RBIs.
Bradley Dick, Lakeside, Jr.: The pitcher-outfielder hit .393 with two home runs and 27 RBIs.
Blake Fant, Captain Shreve, Sr.: Fant hit .273 with 22 RBIs and six doubles while posting a 3.36 ERA on the mound.
David Favrot, Byrd, Sr.: Favrot is the only returning pitcher with varsity experience.
Caden Flowers, Calvary, Sr.: Flowers had a .446 on-base percentage with 29 runs scored.
Peyton Fulghum, Evangel, So.: The All-City third baseman hit .345 with 12 doubles, 16 RBIs and 13 stolen bases and was co-MVP of District 1-4A.
Jakobe Jackson, Minden, So.: The pitcher/outfielder hit .420 with two home runs as a freshman.
Cade Josting, Parkway, Sr.: He struck out 63 hitters in a team-high 45.2 innings with a 3.679 ERA.
Trenton Lape, Parkway, Jr.: The LSU commitment posted a 1.863 ERA with 68 strikeouts in 41.1 innings and hit .298.
Jackson Legg, Calvary, Jr.: The Times All-City athlete hit .365 with 27 RBIs while going 6-1 with 53 strikeouts and a 2.80 ERA.
Brandon Levy, Parkway, Jr.: The Louisiana-Lafayette commitment hit .366 with 20 RBIs and 10 doubles as a Times All-City athlete. In 42.2 innings he posted a 2.95 ERA with 63 strikeouts.
Chan Lytle, Haughton, Sr.: The second baseman hit. 289 with 38 RBIs, 28 runs scored and two home runs.
AJ Manasco, Many, Sr.: Manasco hit .449 with 26 RBIs.
Tucker McCabe, Northwood, So.: The outfielder hit .400 with five doubles 23 stolen bases and 14 RBIs.
Noble Means, Loyola, Sr.: Has a Centenary offer after hitting .325 with 20 RBIs and a 2.01 ERA with 23 strikeouts in 24 innings.
Bryson Pierce, Benton, Sr.: Pierce pitched in 12 ⅔ innings and posted a 1.66 ERA with 15 strikeouts.
Colin Rains, Haughton, Jr.: Rains hit .340 with 35 RBIs, four home runs and 21 runs scored.
Zach Schoenborn, Parkway, Jr.: The catcher hit .338 with 24 RBIs and a team-high 21 walks.
William Soignier, Loyola, Sr.: A right-handed pitcher and outfielder, Soignier hit .298 with 25 RBIs and had 35 strikeouts in 33 innings.
Cade Stewart, Benton, Sr.: Stewart hit .301 with 13 RBIs and posted a 1.000 fielding percentage.
Roman Tolbert, Haughton, Sr.: The Northwestern State signee hit .341 with 35 RBIs and three home runs.
JR Tollett, Ruston, Jr.: The 2021 Times All-Area Pitcher of the Year was 9-2 with a 1.05 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 67 innings.
CJ Watts, Lakeside, Jr.: The catcher/pitcher hit .425 with 11 home runs and 28 RBIs last season.
Harrison Waxley, Airline, Sr.: The Louisiana College commit hit .307 with three home runs, seven doubles and 16 RBIs.
Christian Weddleton, Byrd, Sr.: A four-year varsity catcher who does a great job commanding and controlling the pitching staff.
Walker Wicklund, Captain Shreve, Jr.: Wicklund hit .362 with 14 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
Hunter Willis, Captain Shreve, Jr.: The Times All-City second-team member hit .327 with 36 runs while posting a 3.95 ERA with 42 strikeouts.
