INDEPENDENCE – Plaquemine scored multiple runs in the each of the final four innings to defeat Independence 10-0 on Friday in Tangipahoa Parish.

The Green Devils (8-2), under coach Scott Allen, open LHSAA District 6-4A play against St. Michael the Archangel in Baton Rouge Tuesday and at Sam Distefano Field Thursday before hosting University High – B.R. on Saturday and Tara Tuesday.

“We’re kind of interested to see how we’ll do,” Allen said.

Joseph Keller pitched a no-hitter to earn the win over Independence (5-5) and was 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBIs.

Jalen Davis was 3-for-4 and Chris Cox was 2-for-3 with one RBI.
