Green Devils defeat False River, Covenant Christian

PLAQUEMINE - Plaquemine Senior High School defeated Covenant Christian 7-5 on Saturday in Houma.

The Green Devils (11-0), under coach Scott Allen, also defeated Ascension Catholic 10-8 on Tuesday and False River 18-8 on Thursday. Plaquemine travels to University Saturday and False River Tuesday.

Joseph Keller earned the win over False River in relief of Ethan King.

Julius Maracalin was 3-for-5 at the plate with two doubles, one home run, three runs and two RBIs. Austin LeJeune was 3-for-4 with a triple, double, four runs and one RBI.

Keller was 4-for-4 with a home run, four runs scored and two RBIs. Orlando Batiste also was 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Chris Cox was 2-for-4 with a triple, King was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs and Dwayne Askins was 3-for-4 with a double and one run.

Plaquemine scored four runs in the first, fourth and sixth innings and added three in the second.

Brigalia earned the win against Covenant Christian.

Maracalin was 1-for-3 with a double and three runs, while LeJeune was 2-for-2 with one run.

Askins scored two runs, Batiste hit a double and Brian Jordan was 1-for-3 with a stolen base and one run scored.
