Ascension Catholic shuts out Bulldogs

DONALDSONVILLE - Ascension Catholic posted three runs in the first and second innings on the way to a 12-0 District 8-1A shutout victory over White Castle on Thursday.

The Bulldogs (6-12, 2-5), under coach Robert Madere, also fell to St. James 6-5 on Saturday. White Castle hosts East Iberville Tuesday to wrap up the regular season.

Landon Clifton earned the win for Ascension Catholic, while Ross Barbier was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs, Duncan Mire was 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Nick Bellina was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs.

Keldrick Deggs took the loss for White Castle and was 1-for-4 with a double. Brandon Foster was 1-for-1 with a double.
