PLAQUEMINE – St. John the Evangelist High School shut out Northside 10-0 on Friday in non-district play at Eagle Park.

The Eagles (18-5, 5-1), under coach Heath Whittington, also defeated West St. John 7-0 Tuesday and Ascension Christian 7-4 Thursday in District 8-1A play.

St. John wraps up league play Tuesday at Ascension Catholic before hosting False River Friday and Catholic - Pointe Coupee April 28.

St. John players include Hunter Schnebelen, Brandon Noel, Christopher Patin, Jacob Maranto, Justin Maranto, Hayden Hemenway, Bailey Whittington, Colby Sadden, Gavin Landry, Mason LeBlanc, Dylan Tempanaro and Bryce Rivet.

St. John was No. 3 in the latest unofficial Class 1A power ratings released by the LHSAA on Wednesday.
