St. John's Whittington resigns as baseball coach

PLAQUEMINE - St. John head baseball coach Heath Whittington has resigned the position effective immediately.
“I resigned,” Whittington said in an email. “I appreciate all you have done the past few years.”
Whittington led the War Eagles to their second straight appearance in the Class 1A state tournament this past season to finish 25-6.
He previously coached at Christian Life, Teurlings Catholic and Westminster Christian. During his seven years at St. John, he was selected District Coach of the Year five times.
