Green Devil Reid Griffon (in green) gets back to first base ahead of a pickoff attempt in a game played earlier this year.

In the first and only game of the baseball playoffs, Plaquemine High’s Green Devils allowed a solo homerun by Cameron LeJeune of DeRidder High in the first inning and couldn’t find a way to catch up.

Drake Brigalia was charged with the pitching loss after giving up seven hits and four runs over the course of his six innings on the mound. He earned no walks.

Only J’vonte Powers could get a hit off DeRidder pitcher Dakota Courtney, who struck out eight in the game. Powers managed to squeeze a single hit in his two at-bats.
