East Iberville fell to host Class B Madison Prep Academy 68-38 in tournament play on Thursday.

The 1A Tigers (7-8), under coach Doug Schultz, host 3A Brusly on Friday before opening District 9-1A play at home against West St. John Tuesday.

White Castle defeated 1A West St. John 47-38 and 3A Livonia 55-39 in the St. James Tournament Dec. 20-21.

The 1A Bulldogs (5-8), under coach Troy Green, hosted 4A Assumption on Wednesday before hosting Class C Family Christian on Friday and beginning District 9-1A play at Ascension Christian on Tuesday.

Madison Prep 68,

East Iberville 38

Madison Prep Academy led 37-14 at halftime. Jarell Martin had a game-high 22 points for the Chargers (23-1). Brandon Sampson added 17 and Dwain Dinkins 11. Kylen Popular led East Iberville with nine.

GIRLS

White Castle fell to 3A E.D. White 39-36 to open play in the Assumption Tournament on Thursday before facing 4A Assumption and 5A Thibodaux after falling to 5A Walker 62-41 on Dec. 21.

The 1A Lady Bulldogs (8-7), under coach Tammy Washington Pierce, traveled to 5A Woodlawn-B.R. on Wednesday and go to 5A East Ascension on Thursday before traveling to Ascension Christian on Tuesday to open District 9-1A play.

East Iberville fell to 5A Covington 59-52 to open play in the St. Amant Tournament on Thursday before facing 5A Central-B.R. and 5A Live Oak.

The 1A Lady Tigers (6-10), under coach Cormanda Grace-Green, hosted 3A Baker on Wednesday and will host 3A Brusly Friday before opening District 9-1A play at home against West St. John on Tuesday.

Plaquemine defeated Tara 49-17 to open District 6-4A play on Dec. 21 and began play in a tournament at Denham Springs on Thursday.

The 4A Lady Green Devils (4-8), under coach Brannon Dillon, return to district play Friday at Broadmoor before hosting Istrouma on Tuesday.

St. John fell to host 2A Episcopal 46-34 to open tournament play in the Episcopal Christmas Classic on Thursday.

The 1A Lady Eagles (4-9), under coach Chase Mancuso, traveled to 3A Brusly on Wednesday before heading to 2A Redemptorist on Friday and opening District 9-1A at Ascension Catholic on Tuesday.

Plaquemine 49,

Tara 17

Plaquemine led 10-2 going into the second quarter and 22-7 at the half over Tara (0-8) before taking a 37-12 lead into the fourth quarter.

Amber Smith had a game-high 14 points for the Lady Green Devils. Jimara Russ added seven, O’Neisha Batiste six, Tatyanna Jones five, Kiffani Young, Destiny Johnson and Darlyneice Tillman each four and Jernasha Collins two.

Episcopal 46,

St. John 34

Episcopal led 22-13 at the half. Jessie Brown had a game-high 18 points for St. John. Brittany Johnson led the Lady Knights (11-9) with 17 points and Mary Hoover added 16.
