Wolves too much for St. John

St. John of Class 1A fell to 2A Redemptorist 83-40 in non-district play on Friday night in Baton Rouge.
The Eagles (2-13), under coach Oliver "Cricket" Crockett, opened District 9-1A play on Tuesday at Ascension Catholic before hosting White Castle on Friday and traveling to West St. John on Tuesday.
Redemptorist jumped out to a 26-12 first quarter lead before taking a 44-27 halftime lead and led 61-38 going into the fourth quarter.
Hayden Hemenway led the Eagles with 17 points including four 3-pointers. Princeton Young added 13, including three treys, Benjamin Poirrier and Tyler St. Germain each four and Bailey Whittington two.
Langston Booker led the Wolves (2-12) with a game-high 22 points. Jordan Rheams added 15, Chris Howard 14, Chris Allemon 13 and Jacob Stagg 11.
