Plaquemine falls to Lady Buccaneers

Plaquemine fell to Broadmoor 43-36 in District 6-4A play on Friday night in Baton Rouge.

The Lady Green Devils (5-11, 1-1), under coach Brannon Dillon, also fell to 5A St. Joseph's Academy 45-38 after defeating 5A Hahnville 38-20 in a tournament at Denham Springs. Plaquemine continued league play by hosting Istrouma on Tuesday before traveling to St. Michael the Archangel on Friday and hosting Belaire on Tuesday.

Broadmoor jumped out to a 19-5 first quarter lead before taking a 23-16 lead into the half and 37-26 advantage into the final frame.

Amber Smith led Plaquemine with a game-high 15 points. Jimara Russ added 11, Kiffani Young four, O'Neisha Batiste three, Darlyneice Tillman two and Asia Marshall one.

Shantrell Lumar led Broadmoor (14-4, 2-1) with 12 points. Erica Teschke added seven and Cinnamon Hankton and Mikayla Crockett each six.

Smith had a game-high 22 points against Hahnville, as the Lady Green Devils led 19-13 at the half.
