Plaquemine, Lady Devils, Tigers claim wins in Iberville Parish Jamboree

ST. GABRIEL - Plaquemine defeated White Castle 35-27 in the marquee matchup at the Iberville Parish Jamboree on Thursday night at East Iberville High School.

The Tigers fell to St. James 38-37 in the nightcap. The Lady Green Devils defeated White Castle 27-23 in the first game of the evening before the Lady Tigers edged Plaquemine 25-23.

Plaquemine, under coach Donald Ray Johnson, built a 12-9 halftime lead and ended the game on a 17-11 run. The Green Devils went ahead for good 19-16 on a 3-pointer from Cameron Garner near the top of the key.

Garner led the Green Devils with 13 points including three 3-pointers. Devante Marshall added seven, Demetrius Franklin six, Kirkland Jones four, Clifton Young three and Darwin James two.

Swayne Edwards led White Castle, under coach Troy Green, with nine points. Samson Westly added six, Jacory Washington five, JaTrye Carter four and Omari Haggens one.

Quantae Johnson led East Iberville, under coach Doug Schultz, with a game-high 23 points against St. James. Tyler James and Shawn Griffin each added five and Devin Johnson four.

Asia Nelson led Plaquemine, under coach Brannon Dillon, with 11 points against White Castle. Kiffani Young added nine, Jerneshia Collins three, Oneisha Batiste two and Asia Marshall and Tatyana Jone each one.

Skylar O'Bear had a game-high 14 points for the Lady Bulldogs under coach Tammy Pierce. Brooklyn Falcon added four, Skylar O'Bear three and Ashanti Knight two.

Jasmine Mosby and Taylor Green each had 11 to lead the Lady Tigers, under coach Cormanda Grace-Green over Plaquemine. Marshall had five for the Lady Devils and Young added four.
