Pick and roll: White Castle edges Lady Green Devils in Rocky Ourso Memorial Tourney

WHITE CASTLE - White Castle High School edged Plaquemine 44-42 in both teams' second game in the Rocky Ourso Memorial Tournament Thursday at WCHS.
The host Lady Bulldogs (4-5), under coach Tammy Pierce, opened tournament play with a 54-39 loss to Brusly before defeating Terrebonne 53-44 in the consolation final.
The Lady Green Devils (7-3), under coach Brannon Dillon, fell to Breaux Bridge 48-44 to open tournament play before defeating St. James 49-26 on Saturday.
Belaire won the championship game over Breaux Bridge 66-63. The Lady Bengals defeated St. James 72-30 to open play before downing Donaldsonville 74-69.
The Lady Panthers defeated Donaldsonville 44-33 in the third place game after falling to Breaux Bridge 41-24. The Lady Tigers opened play with a 48-39 victory over Terrebonne.
White Castle also fell to Capitol 47-36 on Monday. They return to the court Tuesday when the Lady Bulldogs host Assumption.
Plaquemine defeated Livonia 44-41 on Tuesday and will host East Ascension Thursday before traveling to Independence on Tuesday.
East Iberville (0-5), under coach Cormanda Grace-Green, fell to Madison Prep 60-47 Thursday and Doyle 80-39 Saturday in the Parkview Baptist Tournament.
