White Castle to honor former coach Johnson

WHITE CASTLE – The Community of White Castle and White Castle High School will be honor the career accomplishments of retired head basketball coach Ronald "Sam" Johnson and assistant coach Joseph "Joe" Jones on Friday, Feb. 7, 2014 during a District 8-1A matchup with Ascension Catholic.

The attendance of all former players who played under the leadership of the two coaches is being requested.

Johnson coached the Bulldogs from 1987-2012 and posted a 678-249 overall record.

During his tenure, White Castle won three state championships in 1991, 2002 and 2011 and were state runners-up six times in 1992, 1995, 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2012.

The Bulldogs also won 20 district titles over the 25-year tenure.
