Lady Tigers too quick for St. John in District 8-1A

PLAQUEMINE - East Iberville High School jumped out to a nine-point first quarter lead and never looked back on the way to a 43-28 District 8-1A victory over St. John on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Tigers (2-14, 2-2), under coach Cormanda Grace-Green, host West St. John Friday and travel to Ascension Catholic Tuesday after a makeup game with White Castle tentatively scheduled for Thursday.

The Lady Eagles (6-15, 0-4), under coach Chase Mancuso, travel to Ascension Catholic Friday and host White Castle Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers jumped out to an 18-9 lead going into the second quarter and led 25-15 at the half before taking a 38-22 lead into the fourth.

Jasmine Mosby had a game-high 22 points for East Iberville. Alanah Washington added 15 including three 3-pointers and Taylor Green had six.

Samantha Rivet led St. John with 11 points. Shelbi Strickland added eight, Randi Seneca four and Keri Yarbrough three.
