Lady Devils split with Tara, St. Michael

PLAQUEMINE - Plaquemine Senior High School rebounded to defeat Tara in District 6-4A play on Tuesday night 46-17 at PSHS' gym.

The Lady Green Devils (16-12, 4-4), under coach Brannon Dillon, also fell to St. Michael the Archangel 56-34 on Friday. Plaquemine is currently No. 32 in unofficial power ratings released by the LHSAA on Tuesday.

Plaquemine led 19-2 going into the second quarter against Tara and 23-5 at the half before taking a 38-11 lead into the fourth.

Asia Nelson led the Lady Devils with 13 points. Kiffani Young added 12, Jernasha Collins six, O'Neisha Batiste five, Shauniece Mitchell four and Asia Marshall, Taejah Watkins and Sharon Flowers each two.

Rhianna Maxwell led Tara (0-13, 0-8) with eight. Kierstan Rice added five and Alexis Quin and Bethany Hughes each two.

St. Michael led 15-10 going into the second quarter and 29-12 at the half before taking a 37-18 lead into the fourth.

Young led Plaquemine with a game-high 18 points. Batiste and Nelson each added five and Collins, Marshall and Myiesha Bell each two.

Tyler Morrison had 14 to lead St. Michael (19-12, 8-0). Alex Wicker added 11, Sydnei Jones nine, Jordan Schexnayder eight and Tylor Row and Sabree Wilson each five.
